British officer's flintlock pistol case by Ketland in London. Mahogany veneer, wedge shaped, with folding handle on brass lid. Shaped green felt sheath. It contains: A pair of pistols by Ketland. Panelled barrels, punched and engraved "London". Damascus steel breech tails. Flat-bodied locks signed "Ketland & Co" and decorated hammers with line decoration (a dog formerly changed and broken). Roller springs. Engraved, chiselled and punched silver fittings. Flat cheeked walnut checkered sticks. Silver thumb pieces monogrammed "CA". Wooden chopsticks with horn tips. With accessories: punch, screw handle, ball mould, chopsticks. CF hallmarks, hallmarks attributed to Birmingham "1819". E.M. (accidents and missing parts, missing part of a dog, mechanisms to be revised). Around 1810-1820.
