Forms the rebus "Pensez à moi". Miniature on ivory, signed and dated on the right: "L. Meurisse 1818". (Small wetness at the bottom, diseased glass; frame slightly too large). Height 6.5 cm; Width: 5.7 cm (irregular oval). Rectangular frame in blackened wood (Height: 12.5 cm; Width: 12 cm). Gross weight: 122 g. Painter and drawing teacher in Lille, Louis Meurice was a pupil of Regnaud in Rome. He exhibited at the Lille Salon until 1810, including three miniatures. Meurice's miniatures were thought to have been lost, so rare is the evidence of his production. A CITES certificate will be issued for movement within the European Union. To leave the European Union, a CITES re-export certificate will be required. Expert: Nathalie Lemoine-Bouchard
