Attributed to Peter Adolph HALL (Borås, Sweden-1739-Liège, 1793) Oval miniature on ivory (Elephantidae spp.) depicting a mid-body woman in a white dress, bodice bow and flowers in her hair, on an imitation hardstone box with tortoiseshell interior (Eretmochelys Imbricata). Circa 1775 Height 3.7 cm; Diam. 4.7 cm (miniature); Height. 2.1 cm; Diam. 6.5 cm (box). Total weight: 49.5 g. Provenance: Mouton de Villaret Collection *Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore compliant with EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to July 1, 1975 and therefore compliant with the French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022.
