SAINT-JULIEN DE BALLEURE (Pierre): Instruction de reprimer Courroux, et les Moyens d'Eviter Ire. Lyon, Jean de Tournes, 1546; in-8, brown basane, muted ribbed spine, boards decorated with two triple rows of stamped fillets, separated by gilded fleurons in the corners, gilded rosette in the center of the boards. Early 17th century binding. Cartier, 66 - Cioranesco, 20235. A fine copy of one of Jean de Tournes' rarest prints in italic type, with handsome initials and the printer's mark on the title and at the end. The work includes three opuscules by Plutarch, translated by the author. Several early handwritten bookplates appear on the title page. (Binding restored, rare brown spots and marginal wetness).
