Havard, 1858; small in-4, old blue half-maroquin binding with corners, gilded fillets, 4-nerved spine highly decorated with gilded motifs, entirely untrimmed, cover and spine (Stroobants). Edition prefaced by Jules Janin, with a first printing of 20 wood-engraved hors-texte figures by Gavarni. A fine copy in a Romantic binding by Stroobants, with the cover and spine printed in blue and bistre, perfectly preserved.
