SALVAT François. Collection of 68 aquatints, watercolors and 5 original drawings in an in-8 volume (215 x 170 mm), hardback, stripped spine, Salvat signature letterhead dated January 1959.
Portraits of young women from the front, in profile, full-length, reading or in various situations. These small works, supposed to be sketches, are so accurately drawn that they can often be mistaken for finished works.
A renowned painter and engraver, Salvat (1892-1976) was also an intellectual and artistic director of the Grasset publishing house.
In 1973, he illustrated a book on Venice.
