Complete collection of the first two series, i.e., the first eight volumes in rare paperback condition: Scènes de la vie privée (4 volumes), Scènes de la vie de province (4 volumes).
They contain important first editions: Le Contrat de mariage, La Recherche de l'absolu, Eugénie Grandet (address of Madame Béchet, bookseller and not publisher), La Femme abandonnée, La Grenadière, L'Illustre Gaudissart, La Vieille fille, Illusions perdues (first part of the triptych).
The covers of the four volumes of Scènes de la vie de province are addressed to J. B. Aragon, commissionaire. Those of two volumes of the Scènes de la vie privée are addressed to Werdet. Spine of some volumes browned. Some foxing in the first volume.
