Hollow oval silver dish, the bottom plain, the marli decorated with gadroons in repoussé. The wing with contours underlined by a moulding of nets, with decoration of foliated scrolls engraved on amati bottom. Brussels, middle 18th century. Length: 29,5 cm. Weight: 475 g. (Stripes.) Carries on the wing the hallmark of the city of Brussels. Hallmark of Master Goldsmith: an owl (unidentified). Punch trace (letter date W?). Import stamp for Belgium 1831-68. Approaching model reproduced in "Masterpieces of goldsmithery from private collections. GENT - Bijlokemuseum - 1985".
