CANEVARIUS Demetrius. Ars medica, seu Curandorum... - Lot 12 - Audap & Associés
CANEVARIUS Demetrius. Ars medica, seu Curandorum morborum affectumve præter naturam accurata absolutaque methodus. Geneva, Jos. Pavo, 1626; 2 parts in one volume in-folio, antique brown calf binding. The most complete posthumous edition, published by Ottaviano Canevarius, the author's brother. The second part contains two unpublished works: De primis rerum natura factarum principiis commentarius and De hominis procreatione commentarius. A physician to Pope Urban VIII, Demetrio Canevari owes his fame to the bindings that were attributed to his library (although they were made for G.B. Grimaldi). Ottaviano's preface, however, refers to his library, which he said was full of excellent manuscripts.
