Count Henri Gatien Bertrand and his wife Fanny Dillon. Covered or mustard cup, in silver. Cover and belly engraved with the arms of Count Henri Gatien Bertrand and his wife Fanny Dillon, with the Bertrand family motto "Dium Spiro Spero" (As long as I breathe, I hope), with two circular handles, chiselled in borders of a frieze of acanthus leaves, on a pedestal set on an oval base resting on four small round feet. Vermilion interior. Top. 14.5 cm. Minerva guarantee mark, 1st type (from 1838); goldsmith's mark (illegible). Coat of arms of Count Bertrand: quarterly: in the first of the military counts; in the second Or, in the shadow of the sun radiating Or, a palm tree Vert issuant from the point and fructed from the field, three to the dexter, three to the sinister, set two and one, in the fourth Azure a crest Or issuant from the point.
