Léon MAURICE or MORICE (1868-circa 1930). Sculptor Angevin. The Emperor Napoleon I. Large medallion, original plasterwork in the round representing the portrait of the Emperor in profile, signed "L. Maurice". (Accidents.) Diam.: 29 cm. Presented on an oak background. L. Maurice or Morice. Author of numerous works, statues, busts and medallions in wood, plaster, terracotta and marble. Present at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900, at the salons of French artists from 1905 to 1930, silver medal in 1914. Deaf and dumb, he also exhibited at the salon des artistes silencieux created in 1926.
