[ABBEVILLE]. - Lot 5
[ABBEVILLE]. Abbeville mayor's purse in garnet-red velvet embroidered in silk and silver thread with the town's coat of arms surrounded by a laurel wreath. Trimmings, inside skin and blue silk. (Accents and wear, no mount, one part detached). Height Height : 29 cm. This purse belonged to the mayor of the town and was used to keep the town's seals. A purse of the same type is kept at the Musée d'Abbeville. Provenance : - Kept by the descendants of Jean-Claude DUSCHENE (1698-1772), seigneur de Lamotte-Buleux et de Courcelles, royal secretary and mayor of Abbeville from 1751 to 1752, to the present day.
