ITALY, Savona. Two earthenware pharmacy vases on pedestals with handles in the form of mascarons enhanced by a bird's head. They are painted in blue monochrome, with a phylactery on the face above a mascaron that can be used as a spout. One is inscribed "Aq Cicoia" with a soldier on horseback in a landscape on the reverse, while the other is inscribed "Aq Boraginis" with a standing soldier holding a spear in a landscape on the reverse. Flowers and plants on either side of the decoration. Late 17th century. (Pedestals missing and glued back together, numerous chips on the top edge and the masks). Height Height : 38 cm.
