Jean-Louis-Ernest MEISSONIER (1815-1891). Charging Cuirassier, 1866. Study for 1807, the Cuirassiers de la Garde at Friedland. Oil on panel, one plate, not parqueted, monogrammed "E.M" lower right. (Lifts, missing.) Height 39.6 cm; Width 29.5 cm. Study of the cuirassier in the middle of the front rank, from the painting by Jean-Louis-Ernest MEISSONIER, Les Cuirassiers de la garde à Friedland, 1807, now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
