CORTI dit CORTY Charles-Joseph (Ribeauvillé, 1757-Ribeauvillé, 1836) Talented artist represented at the Musée Condé in Chantilly and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Strasbourg, whose works are very rare. Portrait of a man in three-quarter bust, right, in blue frock coat with red collar, blue-ribboned satin vest, lace jabot, circa 1785. Miniature on ivory (elephantidae spp) signed on the right near the frame: Cort(y?), on a gold and diamonds brooch from the early 19th century (hallmark on the pin). Height 4.2 cm; Width: 3.1 cm (the miniature) Height 4.5 cm; Width: 4.7 cm (the brooch) *Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore in compliance with Reg. CE 338/97 du 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to July 1, 1975 and therefore compliant with the French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022.
