TIBET, 18th century Large gilded bronze statue of Hayagriva, pratyalidhasana trampling two coiled snakes on a lotus-shaped base. He holds the scepter in his right hand, his left hand in karana mudra. Fierce-looking, his upturned lips show his fangs, his forehead is adorned with the third eye, his tiara with five citipati heads. His beard, eyebrows and hair are bristling, with a horse's head in the middle. He is dressed in a tiger skin and wears numerous macabre ornaments. (Missing inlays, wear).
