"ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ILLUSTRATED BOOKS OF THE ROMANTIC ERA" (Henri Dirkx, who also announces important textual changes). It is decorated with 100 vignettes by Gavarni, Henri-Charles-Antoine Baron, Louis Français including a title-frontispiece. This illustration engraved on metal required two successive printings: typography, intaglio. Copy of the sale at the address of Houdaille, free of any freckles, a rare feature. - Copy of the Balzacian Roger Pierrot.
