DERÈME Tristan (Philippe Huc said). The violin of the Muses. Manuscript partly autograph, partly typed, partly printed from impressions in magazines and bearing numerous retouching. Paris, 1934; large volume in-4 in sheets of 376 leaves (numbered 1-49, 72-400, 451-462 ? sometimes double-sided). Unique manuscript of these "fanciful" chronicles that would form a volume published by Grasset in 1935. - Division of the chapters: "Les propos de M. Polyphème Durand". Dedicated to André Bellesort, friend of Virgil. Pages 2-49. "The Fourteenth of July or Small art of rhyming when one lacks rhymes ". Pages 72-132. "Guirlande pour deux vers de Gérard de Nerval". Pages 133-199. "On the Calendar". Pages 200-250. "In dreaming to P.-J. Toulet or the Time of naguère and, already, of jadis ". Pages 251-400. " La Puce et les oeufs " (" La chanson de la puce "; " Les oeufs de Patachou "). Pages 452-461 "Table of contents". Page 462. The texts on pages 50-71 ("Fausse mort de M. Théodore Decalandre") and 401-451 ("Sous les troènes du Béarn") may be missing unless they were not retained by the editor. Joined 3 autograph letters of Derème to Louis Brun, literary director of the Grasset editions, one of which with two photographs of his portrait fixed on the paper. Many pages bear corrections or additions by Derème while many others are entirely in his hand. With Francis Carco, Paul-Jean Toulet and some others Derème is the founder of the École fantaisiste. He received in 1938 the great prize of literature of the French Academy for the whole of his work. - Attached the typewritten and corrected prayer to insert by the author (although supposed to be composed by the editor).
