Great Pesh kabz of Kutch India, Kutch region, 19th century Length: 58 cm The blade, typical of Indian pesh kabz, has a T-shaped heel and a swollen point called a zirrah bouk. The leather-covered wooden scabbard is mounted in gilded copper. The scabbard ends in a curve and a flower bud. The handle is richly decorated with repoussé flowers alternating with red and green inlaid glass paste petals. The upper part unscrews to reveal a compartment for several tools, now missing.
