Necessary cassette of pistols of officer. In walnut (cracked), decorated on the lid with a brass shield engraved with a coat of arms and the motto "SEMPER VIRENS". Closing with hooks and sheathed with green felt, in form, with two covered compartments, it contains : - A pair of officer's percussion pistols by Bruneel in Lyon. Damascus ribbon barrels, stamped in Liege. Lock plates signed "Bruneel" "à Lyon" and flat-bodied hammers engraved with scrolls, cased. Trimmings and bridges rest-finger jaspés in continuation. Blued screws. Crosses in drowning squared. Restored in colors. - A small pair of boxlock percussion pistols. Round barrels. Engraved chests, retractable triggers. - Their accessories: screwdriver removes chimney, distributor of starters, two moulds with ball, removes spring, oiler, boudoir, mallet, dosette with powder, box out of brass (misses the lid) A.B.E. About 1840 Charles-Joseph BRUNEEL, harquebusier and inventor in Lyon (Rhône from 1825 to 1850). He was the inventor of the percussion rifle in 1827, he patented a Pauly type rifle in 1835.
