Album AMICORUM composed by the countess of... - Lot 23 - Audap & Associés
Album AMICORUM composed by the countess of Hautefort (1787-1850). This album contains 96 sheets including a drawing by Eugène Delacroix and several drawings related to the Duchess of Berry. Size of the album : 27 x 36 cm. Wear on the binding. The last three pages are partially dismantled, some drawings are slightly sunned, some small folds. Album composed by the Countess of Hautefort, born Maillé. In 1816, as soon as the Duchess of Berry arrived at the French court, the Countess of Hautefort (Adélaïde de Maillé de la Tour-Landry, 17871850, married in 1805 to the Count of Hautefort), was attached to her as lady-in-waiting. In 1832, she joined the duchess of Berry during her captivity in the citadel of Blaye, until the duchess' departure for Palermo in 1833. Our album is a beautiful testimony of the artistic society of the 1820s, under the reign of Charles X.
